Writing prompts

A prompt is just an idea for what to write about — nothing more. If you open a new entry and don't know where to start, the entry form shows one to react to instead of a blank page.
Your prompts vs. Discover prompts
Discover prompts is a shared pool everyone sees, including here on the anonymous writing page — no account needed. Your prompts is a second, private pool of prompts you write yourself, but that part requires an account: register and you can add your own from Settings → Your prompts, encrypted the same way your diary entries are — nobody but you can read them, even in a database breach.
Shuffle and Next
Shuffle jumps to a random prompt. Next walks through the list in order, so you can browse every prompt one at a time instead of re-rolling the same few by chance.
Liking a prompt
Liking a prompt doesn't do anything to your entry — it's just a signal for which prompts are actually useful, and it helps prompts you've liked surface again sooner. You can unlike and re-like a prompt as many times as you want. Liking requires an account, same as Your prompts above.
Prompts never get saved into your entry
Whatever prompt is showing is only ever a reference — it's never written into your entry. Your saved entry is exactly what you type in the body, nothing more.
